You are the light of the world. – Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus calls His followers the Light of the world, inviting us to shine with faith, love, and courage. To be the Light of the world means living so that our good deeds reflect God’s goodness to others.
They were like sheep without a shepherd. – Mark 6:30-34
To Christ Our Shepherd, every person matters, and His compassion never fails. When the apostles return weary from mission, Jesus invites them to rest, yet He also sees the waiting crowd and feels deep love for them.
John, whom I beheaded, has been raised. – Mark 6:14-29
A witness to truth stands firm even when the world resists or misunderstands. John the Baptist was a true witness to truth, boldly confronting sin and injustice. When King Herod heard of Jesus, he feared John had risen, revealing his guilt and the cost of ignoring God’s call.
