Jesus encounters a woman bent over for eighteen years, bound by a spirit. Moved with compassion, He calls her forward, lays His hands on her, and she immediately stands upright, praising God.
The tax collector went down to his house justified, rather than the Pharisee. – Luke 18:9-14
Jesus tells a parable of two men praying in the Temple, a proud Pharisee and a humble tax collector. The Pharisee boasts of his own righteousness, while the tax collector beats his chest and pleads for God’s mercy.
Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. – Luke 12:1-9
Jesus warns the crowd that tragedies and suffering are not signs of others’ greater guilt but calls for all to repent. He says clearly, “Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish,” urging honest self-examination and sincere change. Jesus rejects superficial religion and exposes the danger of hypocrisy and fear.
