‘It cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’ – Luke 13:31-35
Jesus boldly calls out those plotting against Him and mourns over Jerusalem, declaring that the mercy of Christ cannot be silenced. He weeps for the city that kills prophets and rejects God’s presence, yet He presses on in compassion and mission.
People will come from east and west, and recline at table in the kingdom of God. Luke13:22-30
As Jesus travels through towns and villages teaching, someone asks Him if only a few will be saved. He responds by urging everyone to strive to enter through the narrow gate. The path to God’s Kingdom is open to all, but it demands humility, repentance, and perseverance.
All night he continued in prayer. And he chose twelve, whom he names Apostles. – Luke 6:12-19
Jesus spends the entire night in prayer, abiding in deep communion with the Father before choosing the twelve apostles. From this place of intimacy and discernment, He calls twelve ordinary men to share in His mission, to be with Him, to preach, and to serve.
