On the day when the Son of Man is revealed. – Luke 17:26-37
Jesus teaches that His return comes suddenly and unmistakably, like in the days of Noah and Lot. People then lived ordinary lives, unaware until judgment arrived, and Jesus warns that the same will be true when the Son of Man is revealed.
The kingdom of God is in the midst of you. – Luke 17:20-25
Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of God is not something distant or to be observed from afar, it is already present among us. It comes alive wherever hearts welcome God’s reign through love, mercy, and faith. This Kingdom is not a future event to wait for, it begins here and now, in the grace that dwells within us and among His people.
No one was found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner. – Luke 17:11-19
In this Gospel, Jesus heals ten lepers, but only one, a Samaritan foreigner, returns to thank Him. Jesus praises this man’s faith, saying that he alone has returned to give glory to God. Through this encounter, Jesus reveals that gratitude is more than politeness, it is an act of faith and worship that recognises God as the source of every blessing
