The genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David. – Matthew 1:1-17
Matthew opens his Gospel by presenting the genealogy of Jesus Christ, tracing His ancestry from Abraham through King David to Joseph, the husband of Mary. This genealogy establishes Jesus’ Sacred Lineage.
