Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. – John 1:20-34
John the Baptist looks up and sees Jesus coming toward him. His heart stirs as he declares, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” In that moment, John recognises who Jesus truly is, the One God promised to send, the perfect sacrifice who sets us free.
He who comes after me. – John 1:19-28
Jewish leaders question John the Baptist about his identity, but he humbly denies being the Messiah, Elijah, or the Prophet. He identifies himself only as “a voice crying out in the wilderness,” preparing the way for Christ.
They found Mary and Joseph, and the baby. And at the end of eight days, he was called Jesus. – Luke 2:16-21
The shepherds hurry to Bethlehem and find Mary, Joseph, and the infant lying in a manger, just as the angels announced. They witness the humble birth of the Saviour and joyfully proclaim the good news to others.
