John the Baptist sees Jesus coming toward him at the Jordan and cries out, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world,” revealing Jesus as more than a teacher, but the saving sacrifice sent by the Father.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. – Mark 2:13-17
In this Gospel scene, Jesus walks by Levi’s tax booth and simply says, “Follow me,” and Levi immediately leaves everything to follow Him, even though tax collectors were despised as traitors and thieves.
