Is it lawful on the Sabbath to save life or to kill? – Mark 3:1-6
Jesus enters the synagogue on the Sabbath and sees a man with a withered hand. The Pharisees watch Him closely, hoping to accuse Him of breaking the law. Yet Jesus, grieved by their hardness of heart, asks, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” When they stay silent, He heals the man’s hand completely.
The Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath. – Mark 2:23-28
When Jesus and His disciples pick grain on the Sabbath, the Pharisees accuse them of breaking the law. Jesus answers by recalling how David ate the sacred bread when hungry, showing that mercy and human need outweigh rigid rules.
The bridegroom is with them. – Mark 2:18-22
Christ the Bridegroom invites you into a living, joyful relationship, not one of mere duty or dry routine. His presence brings new life, hope, and celebration to every moment of faith. When your religion feels heavy or repetitive, ask if you are trying to fit the new wine of grace into old wineskins of habit or pride.
