Explanation
In the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin, Jesus reveals God’s merciful heart, showing that heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents more than over many who think they have no need for repentance. Through these stories, Jesus emphasises that God never stops seeking us, no matter how far we stray. Just as the shepherd searches joyfully for his lost sheep and the woman rejoices upon finding her lost coin, God seeks every lost soul with tender love. Each act of turning back to Him brings joy to His heart and to all of heaven. Christ reveals the Father’s boundless mercy and His deep desire for our return, reminding us that no one is ever beyond God’s reach and love.

God’s love is personal and relentless, He searches for each of us like the shepherd seeking his lost sheep. This Gospel reminds us that heaven rejoices over even the smallest turn of our heart toward Him. Repentance is not a moment of shame but a homecoming, a joyful return to God’s embrace. In our daily lives, we can reflect this joy by forgiving others, reaching out to those who feel lost, and rejoicing when grace restores them. Let us not fear returning to God, for He always welcomes us with open arms, and there is great joy in heaven when one sinner repents. As we examine our own hearts, let us ask: Do we rejoice when others return to God, or do we judge them? Today, I choose mercy, understanding, and encouragement for anyone seeking to begin again, knowing that God celebrates every step we take back toward Him. Let the joy of repentance begin in our hearts today.
