Explanation

Behold the Lord’s Promise: The angel Gabriel visits Mary and announces, “You will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and His name will be Jesus.” Though troubled, Mary listens, trusts, and humbly accepts God’s plan. With her wholehearted fiat, “Let it be done to me according to your word”, the mystery of the Incarnation begins.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, Mary will conceive Jesus. In her humble obedience, God enters the world in human flesh. Through her willing heart, God’s promises unfold, showing how He works through faith and trust in His divine will. Behold the Lord’s Promise, Through Mary’s fiat, salvation begins. God’s plan is fulfilled in her humble acceptance, revealing how He acts through those who cooperate with His will.

Reflection

Behold the Lord’s Promise: Mary responds with humility, courage, and trust, offering her wholehearted yes even when she cannot see the full path ahead. Her fiat invites me to receive Christ into my own life and to trust that God can accomplish the impossible within me. When life feels uncertain or the road seems unclear, I can follow Mary’s example and say my small “yes” to God. Her obedience reminds me that God remains faithful, that His promises hold firm, and that He works through willing hearts. Behold the Lord’s Promise: My daily acts of trust and surrender open space for God’s grace to move in unexpected and powerful ways.

Meditation

  • Sit quietly and breathe in God’s presence. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart to His will. Offer your fears, hopes, and questions to God, trusting that He hears you. Say softly, “Behold, Lord, I trust You.”
  • Picture standing with Mary as Gabriel brings God’s message. Imagine Mary’s response and pray, “Lord, let my heart echo her Fiat, let it be done unto me according to Your word.” Rest in God’s presence, letting His peace and trust fill you.
  • Ponder the mystery of the Incarnation, the moment the Word was made flesh. Reflect on Mary’s humble obedience and ask, “Help me, Mother Mary, to conceive Your Son in my heart.” Pray for the grace to always respond with a resounding “yes” to God’s divine plan.
  • Rest in God’s promise. Let peace fill you as you trust in His love and His plan for you. Say softly: “Behold, Lord, I trust You.” Let your heart rest in His unwavering faithfulness.
